18" LMGT4s with snow tires

So I just picked up a 2010 G37S coupe and I'm contemplating snow tire options. I have the stock 19" wheels on the car that I could put snow tires on or I have 18x8.5 front 18x9.5 rear nismo lmgt4 wheels off my old 350z. What snow tire size would you recommend for the 18's?

Thanks,
Mark

Welcome to the site Mark. I'd take a look at the snow tire brand/model that you're wanting, go on their website and see the recommended wheel width range and get the narrowest tire (s) you can find for the 8.5 & 9.5 18s, I'm thinking it would be a 225/50 front 245/45 rear.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll definitely look into that. From previous experience with snow tires I was thinking about going as tall a sidewall as possible, but I hadn’t considered going as narrow as possible. That said, now I’m a little worried about running a 9.5 rear in the snow.

I'd say don't worry about it. I ran 9" wide wheels with 245 width in the snow without issue. That wasn't even snow tires, just good all seasons.

Last year I ran 245 width snow tires on 8" wide wheels on all 4 corners and never once had issue.

That’s good to hear. I live in New England and the only other RWD I’ve driven daily in the winter was a Scion FRS and I had like 215/45/17 general Altimax arctics on it and it was amazing in the snow. It was also 800 lbs lighter and had 130 less horsepower. I’m looking forward to seeing how the G handles it.
