Put on general altimax arctics snow tires today - READY for the snow

We had about an 1" of snow this morning and the tires did well. I tried hard but never lost traction on the G37X. The traction control never even kicked in.

I am ready for the 24+" of snow coming.

I live in the DC area and had to deal with "Carmageddon II" last night. People were taking 3 and 4 hours for a typically 20-30 minute drive, like it was about 5 years ago. All sorts of cars, trucks and SUVs wiped out left and right, abandoned, crashed into trees, run out of gas, piled into each other, roads closed, it was a mess.

My G37x did great though, barely even a slip, and that's with regular tires. It was the same last time too, which is one reason I'm on my third G. I'd get a fourth Infiniti when the lease runs out if Infiniti finance didn't suck so bad. Very happy with the car though. It should be interesting to see how it goes with the upcoming "blizzard" tomorrow.

^ same. I saw so many wrecked cars this morning lol. Mine was getting me around fine though.

I call BS on "The traction control never even kicked in." though. no way lol. Now what's more likely, is you didn't even notice it was coming on since it did such a good job of keeping the car on track.

I also live in the DC area. No issues with my G, through any snow storm. Gotta love my AWD.

Actually I would have noticed because of the light that flashes on the dashboard when the traction control does kick in..

Yes, I was surprised too. Got the chance to drive the car last night and with more snow on the roads, yes the traction control did kick in many times but it wasn't too bad. Was able to move around no problems.

The REAL test will be Saturday night when I have to pick up my wife from work (hospital). We may have approx 24" of snow by that time.

Driving smart and with good tires the traction control won't kick in. We've had snow and ice on the roads for the last couple months and I've only had it kick on a few times when I wasn't doing something dumb.

One should be familiar with the car's behavior when traction control and abs kicks in. Practice in an empty parking lot. That way when it does kick in, it won't surprise or shock you.

Took the g37S out yesterday here, roads werent too terrible but I must say, the car drove reallt well with the xice xi3 snows. TC only poped on when I had to kick the rear end out to make a slightly steep left hand turn.

Really surprised how easy it was to drive. remember, this is just RWD. Probably had about 2"-6" On the roads plus a lot of slush.

Drove some more last night (we got 30") and did not have any problems on most roads. Did not drive anywhere where some other car did not pass first to at least move some snow. Wasn't going to try a full 30" .............

I am surprised how well the snow tires worked. Very few times did the traction control kick in, even under WOT the car just moved without any problems.

This is the first year ever I had snow tires on, def will continue to use them.

Had the RWD G35 for the past 12 years and driving in the snow was not fun.
