G37 TPMS inoperable after dead battery?

I hadn't started the G37 for 8 weeks. When I went to do so the battery was dead. Cold nights deadened a new battery. After jumping the TPMS blinks 65 times before remaining solid.

Does a dead battery blank out the TPMS settings on a G37?

no.
your tires are low from sitting so long. Air up and drive a while theyll adjust and turn off.

thanks, yes, that's what I thought too. I aired up and drove for 100 miles...I'm still getting the 65 blinks and solid light at start up.

Unfortunately you received bad advice above. If the TPMS blinks prior to solid illumination, there is a malfunction with the system, versus just low tire pressure. If the light just comes on and illuminates solid, check your pressures, fill up, drive, and the system will likely reset itself.

If you have a blinking light and then solid, I am willing to bet you had a battery fail. They only last about 6 years or so, on average. You can purchase aftermarket with virtually no issues.

Its possible that the sensors may be asleep due to being inactive for so long. To wake them up, try releasing almost all the air out of each tire than air them back up to 35psi.

This is how you wake sensors up on Toyotas. I'm not sure if its universal for all TPMS systems, but worth a shot.

If that doesn't work than one or more of the sensors could be malfunctioning.

The dealership will most likely charge you 1 hour labor to diagnose it.

These are aftermarket sensors installed in March. I'll attempt to have them reprogrammed. Thanks all for the assist!

Made a quick trip to Les Schwab, who installed these aftermarket TPMS. Nicole, a female employee, did a reprogram in less than a minute. All is right again. Thanks fellas!
