Tire pressure sensor problems

Hello,

I have a 2010 g37 sedan, been having problems with tire pressure sensor indicating tires are under inflated but when I manually check pressure I am within range. Is there way to reset or disable this indicator on my dash?

Thank you,

Joe M.

If you have a TireRack shop around you they can reprogram the sensors for you. Also one of them can be bad (battery low) and showing the error on the dashboard. You can disable it by removing a fuse I guess but IT NOT recommended period. You can find a set at ebay for about $50 and replace all of them if you find out one of them is bad.

My car is almost 6 years old. I'll probably be running into the issue of dead tpms batteries too. Replacing one doesn't make much sense, given the age at some point they'll all fail. Considering the cost of r&r of the tires + balance, makes sense to wait until it's time to replace the tires.

My winter wheels have no tpms sensors. The dash light isn't very bright or intrusive. For decades cars did not have tpms and one had to rely on manually checking tire pressure periodically. I'm ok with waiting. It's my understanding in this car tpms is indicator only and not tied to any safety or tcs system.

Makes sense to have them check before I disable anything, thank you for taking your time to respond.

I've used Discount Tire with positive results too. I did a plus 1 wheel swap placing 18's from a 2010 sedan to a 2008 sedan. No charge at DT!
