New to Custom Wheels

I want to add rims but I love the way my car looks and I do not want to lower. What tire setup would I need in order to achieve the exact or very close to the same setup(Ride Height) that I have as of right now. I want to stick to 19s and possibly run staggered. I do not mind buying spacers.

I am currently running..
Stock rims and 235/55 R17

Yes.. I am a newbie.. I apologize and offer thanks in advance !

James,
If you stay at stock height I'd consider 18s, they will be lighter and cost less, and as you go up in wheel diameter the fender gap appears to get larger, it doesn't, but to the eyes it does.

If you get new wheels I'd get the proper offsets so you won't need spacers, that will save money and be a better plan.

As you go up in tire diameter you have to go down in sidewall series to keep your diameter similar. So your current 235/55/17 would need to be a 235/45/19 w/ those new 19 wheels to have the close diameters.

Check the wheel folder for more specific info, and if you find a few wheels you like post a thread over there w/ what you like and you'll get help

This comment might not make sense, but it's true.

If you're not going to lower the car, get 18's.

I went with Niche Essen wheels (square setup - 18x8, +40) with 225/50 tires.

Although I would have prefered to lower my car and go with 19 or 20 inch wheels, for various reasons I did not lower it, and pretty much had to go with 18s.

Hope this helps with your decision-making.

Thanks for the compliment.
With the constraints I'm dealing with, that's the best look I was hoping for.

Maybe at some point I'll be able to do a mild drop and get a set of staggered 20s - the look many have here that I'm sooo jealous of!

Honestly, I kind of like the slightly taller sidewall on a lowered car. Reminds me of a truly track oriented look (depending on the wheel). I don't plan to go any bigger than 19s myself, but 18s are kind of tempting. Don't get me wrong, some of the staggered and non-staggered 20" set ups on here look REALLY good, but for overall ride and look, I'm seriously considering 18s, but leaning toward 19s

For the G Sedan, when conservatively lowered for continuity, I think 19's are the right compromise for appearance, weight and comfort. The design of the rim has a lot to do with that assessment. It's all very subjective.

Rochester makes a good point (as always). I was on OEM 17s then went square 20s, then staggered 20s w/ 295s in back, then to square 18s. Love the 18s and will probably go to slightly staggered tires (like a 265/275) when my current tires get down to the bars. 18s in a quality Japan wheel are much cheaper than 19s of the same (like a Volks, Works, Weds, etc) and that was my main reason, but I also like the lighter weight and a bit more sidewall. Won't go back now.
