Tires Question
Tires Question
I've practically read all the applicable tire threads to me, but still can't come to a unified answer.
I am currently running 225/45/19 and 245/40/19 w/ Toyo Proxes 4 Plus on the 19" coupe rims.
I'm hearing that 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 is best for this setup, but I'm also reading that it's good for people who ARE NOT lowered (I am lowered on Eibach)
Will I rub with passengers running the 275/35/19 in the back?
What are the best daily driver summer tires? (I live in Miami)
Thanks!

You can run the 245/275 combo, it's not the best on a 9" width though. A 265/35 is a better mount on a 9" width. Best Summers are typically the Michelin Pilot Super Sports. The following are other decent choices as your budget allows. The higher priced Continental DW, Bridestone S0-4 Pole Position, and easier on the wallet Toyo T1Sports, BFG SportComp 2, Hankook Ventus V12 Evo, Kumho Ecsta Le Sport, Nitto Nt555 G2. All of those tires will be a big step up from the All Season Proxes that you now have.

So...245/40/19 and 265/35/19?
That will be what I go for then in one of those tires!
Ideally a 235/40/19 & 265/35/19 will have the diameters real close, the 245/265 the rears will be about 2/5ths of an inch shorter. There are a lot that run 245/275s, but the 275s are a pinch mount on a 9" width so you may get some sidewall roll if you really push your G. If those were my wheels I'd run the 235/265 set just to keep the diameters close and the best mount for the wheel widths.

Thoughts on that price?
It's tough to find 235/40/19 and 265/35/19 for a good price. There's a very limited selection out there, which is why I'm leaning more towards the 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 in the Ventus V12 Evo2's. There is a deal currently as I can get all 4 tires new in those sizes for $750 shipped w/ warranty from Discount Tire Direct.

Not always easy to find 235/265 combos, and like I said, many run the 245/275 setups without problems. Sounds like a fair price, Tirerack has them for $644 after a $100 Visa rebate is applied, might get lucky on shipping if you're close to a center Using Cookies

I had the 245/275 set up on my sport wheels. With only weekend spirited driving I never had issues but as B said you could potentially have some.
If you don't mind used sets...
265/35/19 MICHELIN
19" Two 275/35ZR19 Michelin Pilot Super Sport w/80%tread BMW used
they're actually just DW - PAIR 245 40 19 Continental Extreme Contact DWS Tuned Used Tire

Many use the 245/40 and 275/35-19 combo just fine with Eibach's. Every car is a tad different alignment and such wise, but I've not had any issues with others using that combo, even if lowered.
