So I finally got new wheels for my G Sedan but they don't have TPMS in them. Any advice on which ones to buy and where from???

 

What year is your car? I have one pair from 09 coupe.

You can transfer the TPMS valves from your old wheels to your new ones if you're not going to use them for winter tires or have already sold them.

 

I bought TPMS sensors from Tirerack when I got my latest set of tires for a 6 year old G at the time. Sensors typically last 5-10 years so it wasn't worth it to me to risk having to spend time going to a tire shop and pay again to remount the tires if a sensor's battery died. The sensors I bought looked identical to the OEM sensors and works just as well.

FWIW, I just went to the local Big O shop and replaced the original Dunlops on my 2010. I had the TPMS sensors replaced as part of the deal. The TPMS sensors were $7 per wheel. I don't know if the sensors on the later cars are the same (my car doesn't report individual wheel pressures like yours) but you might just call whatever big tire chain is near you and ask how much replacement sensors would cost.

Bought used OEM coupe 19s with TPMS installed but my car doesnt seem to properly read them. My car is an 08 G35 sedan but these were off a G37. Are these sensors not compatible with my year or maybe one is faulty?

 

Discount Tire replaced and synced the Car to them. Was like $49'ish per sensor.

 

I discarded use of the TPMS sensors. I bought my tires separately online, so whatever tire shop I go to probably wouldn't offer me some package deal on TPMS sensors since I didn't buy tires from them. I'm already used to checking my tire pressure frequently, so I figured I didn't need to dish out $200ish so a sensor can tell me that my tires are running low on air. I could've transferred the sensors from my old wheels, but I felt like that was too much work. None of my friends/family members have a vehicle that can load up on 2 sets of wheels and tires (considering 1 set isn't even mounted), so I would have to make two trips if I wanted the local tire shop to extract the TPMS sensors from my OEM wheels and transfer them to my aftermarket wheels. And knowing chain tire shops, they probably would've snuck in some obnoxious labor fees to dismount the tires from the OEM wheels and relearn the TPMS sensors.

Only con to this is that you have to deal with the low tire pressure light on the dash.

 

damn! discount been telling me $65 for one side then i go in to do it and they want to get my whole set of tires and sensors replaced smdh
