19inch Square SetUp on G37 Sport Coupe

Hey Fellas,

I am going a size down, 19inch square set up - what brand wheel manufacture should I look into also what are the best tire sizes. I do not want to add spacers, as I am looking for a wheel brand that fits directly on the car. Thanks!

If you want quality lightweight sets, look for SSR (GTV line), Wedsport, Rays, Work Emotion. For a higher dollar budget the SSR full lineup, Work & Volk wheel sets.
Shoot for a 19x9.5 +25 to 19x10.5 +35 range, and for tires a 255/40 on the 9.5s up to a 265/35 on the 10.5s. Depending on what offsets are available would define your tire options.

Thanks Blnewt! I am actually on a budget, as such I'm looking for a wheel manufacturer that's in the lower dollar price bracket?

Might want to pay attention to what VenomGT9 post in this thread, check the last few pages. He finds some really nice deals on high quality sets, and maybe some are within a quick drive??

Not sure your budget, but here's some Wedsport that offer 19s in good offsets for your coupe
Evasive Motorsports | PH: 626.336.3400 Mon-Fri, 9am-6pm PST: SA-15R
I have the Wedsport SA10R but they only go up to 18s, but I've been very happy w/ their look, quality, & weight.
Contact Jason@Getyourwheels.com for nice prices on all the sets he sells, he can get most wheel brands and does a great job for us.

I have a HUGE list on that thread coming soon...don't cheap out on parts just because it's easier than trying to save money.

Bumping and Old thread because I am in a similar situation, have 09 s coupe and just purchased 4 konig centigram- 19x9.5 +25 and now curious on tires size. Whats the widest tire I can get away with on bc coilovers without rolling or pulling fenders? 255 all around or 265? Any help would be appreciated

I'm a few years late to this thread but I was curious.

You mentioned a 9.5" wheel in the front but I currently have a widebody being worked on for my G and I wanna know if a 10" in the front would be more or less beneficial than the 9.5". The widebody extends the front and rear fenders by 55mm and I think it would look a little strange having such small wheels on the G with this widebody.

Yes you can and should take advantage of the extra fender and run wider wheels and/or a square setup (10"-12" are common widths for widebody kits). How wide are the fenders on your widebody kit?

A general rule of thumb for helping to measure wheels and offsets is 6mm of offset = 1/2" of wheel width... but there's caveats. For example, if you have a 19x9.5+23 front wheel now, and your widebody fender adds an extra 1.5" per side, one would think 19x11+23 will safely fit and not look goofy (thinking 6mm x3 = 1.5"); However, increasing width alone (not adjusting offset) increases poke evenly on the inside and outside of the wheel. So in reality, the wheel actually only pokes out roughly 3/4" more and also sits 3/4" closer to the suspension strut. To counter for that, you'd want to subtract the wheel width difference via offset (18mm in this example) from the original offset value. So for 19x9.5+23 to go to 19x11 and provide 1.5" of additional poke, the 19x11 offset would need to be 19x11+5. Assuming the imaginary 19x9.5+23 front setup in this example sat flush with the fender before, and in a perfect world where the widebody truly adds exactly 1.5" of fender width, this would provide a flush setup with the widebody kit. Again the 6mm=1/2" rule isn't exact, but is a great way to get a ballpark idea of what offsets and widths you want/need.

It's a little difficult to pinpoint offsets with widebody kits since they are different from kit to kit and a lot don't list measurements etc (generally have to install it and measure after to get the best wheel fitment/setup). Keep in mind the wider wheel (and accompanying tire) will generally add more rotational weight unless you are looking at forged or flow-forged wheels. Excuse me if that's old knowledge for you!

You can also use wheel spacers but adding a 1.5"+ wheel spacer isn't generally advised; a little sketchy with that length but YMMV. Some have had no bad experiences, others not so much. Bolt-on spacers aren't allowed at many sanctioned track events which is something to consider depending on your plans with your car. ARP extended studs with hubcentric spacers are allowed by most sanctioning bodies as an alternative for that issue, if tracking and spacers need to be used.

Hope that helps!
