Question about spacers

The reason why I still had a half-height nut was that I only had 18 of these spline-drive lugnuts available, and used two of the nuts that came with the spacers. And then, of course, I stripped one of them.
That's a great fix, thanks! I will definitely grab some of those before next winter. That sucks that out the 2 you had you stripped one lol.. Where did you pick up the spline nuts?

They came with my wheels two years ago, when I bought my Vossens. Very cheap set, so probably you can find a set on Amazon for virtually nothing. $15 or thereabouts.

I suspect they just scooped them out of a bin, because 2 of the 20 lugnuts were about 2mm taller than the others, which was just enough difference to screw up the fitment. That's why I had to use two of the half-height lugnuts. It wasn't until this week that it occurred to me to simply apply them to the grinding wheel. Now I have a full set.

Here, these look like they would work just fine, or something like them. Essentially the same thing as the half-heights, just twice as tall. And properly zinc-plated (forged) steel, instead of soft bronze.

Hmm. Now that I see these, I think I'd rather use them than those narrow spline drive nuts.

Oh hey, these would work nicely, too!

Question about spacers

^^ Added the red ones to my future mod list. Even though they're hidden they will look cool when my wheels are off. Thank you sir, you couldn't have been more help.

It's as much for me as you. Talking about it made me dig a little deeper, and discover there are spacer-specific lugnuts that I would prefer to have over the haphazard approach I'm using. So yeah... even though it's under $20, it's something I might continue to research, because it's on my future list now, too.

Specifically... November 2016.

But yeah, if I actually helped somebody else on the same path at the same time, good karma.
