Performance oriented wheel brands?
What are some performance oriented wheel brands? Specifically, a cheaper alternative to high ticket forged wheels. I've heard mixed emotions about Vossen although many members here use their wheels (a friend of mine told me they make replicas, although I'm not sure, and that they aren't strong enough). I planned on purchasing my own but I'm just curious to see what my options are when I decide to swap my stock wheels.
If you want cheap and light, the G35 Forged Rays are a great bargain. 19-20 lbs per corner. Save about 30 lbs unsprung weight over stock 19s.
They're fairly narrow, though, so you won't be able to run very wide tires. (19x8 Front & 19x8.5 Rear)

Look into used GTR wheels. Sets usually range from $1000-$1700 (depending if CBA or DBA versions and condition of course).
They don't give you near the weight savings, but they're 24f/26r lbs respectively.
look up Formula Drift event, check out the drift cars and see what wheels they are running.
Some on top of my head are: BBS, Rays, Works, Volk, Gramlights, SSR, ADV1, HRE, Enkei, and Vossen.
(just kidding on the last one

If you want lighter weight wheels for decent budget look into the Work Emotion line, the SSR GTV line, the TSW rotary forged sets, and some of the Enkei sets. Should be able to get a set of 4 on any of those for under $1800, and some well under that.
The flow formed & rotary forged are a step up from cell cast and are stronger & lighter.

Also Rays Gramlites & some Wedsports I'd add to that mix.
Here's a good link for various quality sets at mid to high budgets
