Problem Attempting To Install Front H&R Trak DRM Spacers
Problem Attempting To Install Front H&R Trak DRM Spacers
Well, I'm getting my KW Coilovers installed tomorrow. I decided to put on my front and rear spacers today.
The rear spacers, 15MM, went on no problem. Looks great. Except car looks more 4X4 than ever.

I attempted to install the fronts (20MM) and as soon as I had the wheel off, I noticed this:

Is this some sort of sensor or something? Doesn't really matter what it is. It's in the way!
What options do I have to still add front spacers? Do I need to get the spacers that require adding longer studs to my front hubs?
Thanks for the help.

Well after searching Google even more, I found a thread on G35driver.com .
DIY: Ichiba V2 Wheel Spacer Installation - G35Driver
Apparently this is whats known as a dummy bolt/stud. It's purpose is so a moron doesn't accidentally install the rear wheels on the front.
This is a relief. Unfortunately it is already dark and I will need to get dirty again tomorrow.
Remember, Google is your friend.
I just can't believe I have never noticed the dummy stud until now. I have even had to change the front tire a couple of times.

Here is another thing you should be aware of - stock setup is slightly pushed into the wheelwell, on any car, which always casts a shadow on top of the tire. It gives you the illusion of being lower because the shadow hides the gap to a certain extent.
When you push wheels out with spacers or a wider setup in general the shadow is no longer there, so you have to go lower to fill in the gap to a level you find appealing.

So much space from the top of the tire to the bottom of the wheel fender. I would never want to add wheel spacers to this car unless it is going to be lowered.
Car is getting coilovers installed as we speak.
