new rims 60 MPH shake

i just put on a set on Vossen cv7 20s and noticed that when I go over 60mph the car starts to shake, Took it back to the shop where I install the wheels and re-balance the wheels, still the same, and I was told that it could be the front tires that needs to replace, which they do have some uneven camber wear on them, I ask them could it be the hub centric rings not being install and they said no. really looking for some help here. should I just replace the front tires?

Adding hubcentric adapters might help and may even eliminate the vibration altogether. Did you have any issues w/ vibration w/ those tires on your old wheels? Did they have a Hunter road force balance machine, those do the best job in tough to balance wheels/tires.

Are Vossens hub centric or lug centric? Make sure you have the correct lugs for your application. I don't have rings on my Enkeis and they are dead stable well into triple digits.

They're lugcentric, at least for our 66.1mm bore. And good call on the lug nuts, be sure you have tapered (conical) seat lug nuts for those new wheels.

Oh, if you bought them w/ used tires installed one of the tires could even have a bubble or broken belt or some other defect that could be causing the vibration. That's one of the pitfalls of buying wheels w/ old tires installed. And having heavy camber wear won't make the situation any better
If you got a good deal on the wheels it might be a good idea to go w/ new tires.

Its probably the tires.

When i first installed my Niche 19's they came with cheap-o tires and the steering wheel would shake to no end when going over 50 MPH.

Slapped some new tires on, problem was instantly gone.

Check for inside wall bubbles and get rebalanced.

So I installed the hub-centric rings today, the car feels better but not 100% back to where it was, still having tiny shaking when I go above 75MPH, my thinking was that I have to do a alignment.

Toe could be slightly off on one or more wheels. Get an alignment.

Balancing could still be off on either... not all balancing machines and technicians are created equal. Go find a shop which specializes in large wheels, because they're more likely to have the skills with aftermarket rims, and cater to pretty finicky customers.

You could have a tie-rod end which is slowly going bad. If you go in for a re-balance or alignment, ask the shop to look at that.

If the tires already had camber wear, they could have other issues. It could just be the used tires that came with the wheels. While not an inexpensive fix, it could be an upgrade opportunity... depending on what they are.

That was my first instinct, also. Second is proper lug nuts. The unevenly worn tires have to go, either way. Road force balance is always superior.
