Tire recommendation for Journey Sport Sedan?

Hello all,

Been a lurker here since I bought my G in September 2013. I would greatly appreciate a tire recommendation for my 2011 G37 RWD Journey Sport Sedan. I am looking for all-season tires as I don't plan to switch seasonally. My apologies if this topic has been covered, the search function was not helpful. Please point me in the right direction if possible.

Tire rack recommends 225/50 & 245/45. I have seen multiple users recommend 245/40 & 275/35 to coupe owners. Will I be able to run these on my car even though I have 18's rather than 19's? What is the advantage/disadvantage of each size? Do I have other options as well?

Perhaps I am not understanding the stickies fully.....any help would be well received.

You can run a bit wider setup if you want but I wouldn't go w/ those lower series sidewalls. As you go up in wheel diameter the sidewall series has to get lower to keep the rolling diameter similar. You could run a 235/45/18 front and 265/40/18 rear. I wouldn't go wider than those two sizes on your 7.5/8.5" wheels (the coupe 19s are 8.5/9" set).

As far as what brand, the Continental DWS seems to get decent overall reviews as does the Michelin Pilot A/S.

If you live in an area that doesn't get much weather below 40 degrees you may want to try summer tires, especially if you have another vehicle you can use on cold/snowy days.

There's some great tires to choose from in the oe sizes. If you don't see a lot of snow, Michelin's Pilot Sport AS-3 is a great choice. The new BFG GForde Comp-2 A/S has already been a great tire in wet and thus far wearing really well. I'd also toss in the B-Stone RE970 A/S as an option. Yeah, no wider than the 265's on that wheel for proper fitment.
