TPMS problems solved

I'd been having a tire pressure light on for a week or so, so I went to Infiniti, who didn't want anything to do with my car because of the custom wheels, so I went to my alignment guy, who checked the sensors with a scanner and changed one. Light was still on. He sent me to another store because they were supposed to have a better or different scanner. They changed another sensor. Light didn't go off. In desperation, on a Sunday I went to Pep Boys. They checked the wheels with their scanner, and then hooked it to the OBD2 port to tell the car what sensors were on the wheels. No more light! And the Pep Boys did it for free! The store is the Pep Boys in Chino, Ca. They were so helpful and solved the problem. The moral of the story is if you change a sensor, you have to have all the wheels scanned, and the results downloaded to your car or it won't fix the light. If they tell you it "should" go off in 20 miles, it won't. Be sure you have the scanning done correctly. And aftermarket sensors are only about 60 bucks instead of Infiniti's 300! Mine in a 2012 G37 are made by VDO, who is the maker of the aftermarket ones also.

You are correct. Each TPMS wheel sensor needs to be correctly paired to the ECU.
However you were lucky using Pep Boys to do work on your vehicle. I view them pretty much the same as Jiffy Lube.
I only trust the dealer to do any work on my G.

Modifying anything runs the risk of the dealer refusing to touch the vehicle and I can't blame them.

Time is money and no dealer tech wants to waste time troubleshooting on aftermarket anything.

Glad to hear you got it fixed

Any reasonably competent tire shop can easily reset TPMS sensors, OEM or aftermarket. Absolutely no need to take a car to the dealership for something so simple.

Tirerack sells OEM manufacturer Pacific (made in Japan) TPMS sensors for $55. I bought a set of 4 almost two years ago and have had no issues.
