MAX tire width on 09 37x coupe
Hello everyone!
new to the forum, hopefully posting this thread in the right place.
i want to put summer tires & rims on my '09 G37x coupe. stock is 225/50/18
Basically, i want to upgrade to bring it up to 19" but put a really fat tire on them. how can i find out how much clearance i have in the wheel well?
i was hoping on getting 245/30/19 on the front,
and 275/30/19 on the rear. is this possible? please give me any suggestions or info or tips!
i was advised to put 245/30/19 all around, but i would much rather have a fatter rear tire.

And play with the tire calculator if you want staggered size. As long as they are within 3%(?) You should be fine.
Actually w/ an AWD you need to be much closer to zero %, issues arise at speeds over 80mph w/ variance over 1% on a staggered setup. With a RWD a variance up to 3% is OK.
i did check out a few tire calculators, for 285/35/19 i am good, no changes.
for 245/35/19 (front) its 0.7%, so still decent.
how can i figure out the offset? i guess that info will be based on which rim i select?

Yep, this is the combo you want
As far as offset, most of the wheels come in a few offsets for every width rim they sell. Some only come in one offset and more expensive rims such as Work & Volks you can specify an exact offset w/ some of their sets.
Offset is very important and will determine what will & won't work. Also if you ever plan to upgrade to a Big Brake Kit (BBK) you'll want rims that will have enough clearance for them too.

i really dont see myself doing any performance upgrades on this at all, unless a simple cold air intake and minor exhaust upgrade, but i really hate to get rid of the stock sound. we also have an IPL in the house, so it just defeats the purpose of me doing any mods on mine. if i want a touch more fun, just jump in the IPL.
thanks
this is what i am starting to think now. spent a couple days looking into this and doing some research, and it just seems to complicated, and a few factors that i know nothing about, i dont want to take the risk. hard time finding a set of rims in the sizing that i want too.
at this point im wondering if the front can handle 255, then i will probably just do 255/30/19 all around. comments?

Ryne runs 255/35/20 on all corners so the front can definitely handle that. For 19s I guess 255/40/19 is what you would want.
And just FYI: I, as well as others, run 245/35/20 & 285/30/20 with absolutely no issues.
Full disclosure: I've only gotten the car up to 90 on this setup.
So....square is the safest route, but if you really want the fat rears you can have them
