Wheel fitment problem

So' I've got a set of Incurve IC-s5's, 20x9+35F,20x10.5+45R ..
The center caps on the rear wheels are hitting the axles..(I've contacted InCurve they say they only sell 1 style centercap (http://incurvewheels.com/wp-content/...lver-named.jpg) which are like metal-ish and have a rubber gasket in the back which sits into a lip inside the wheel center to stay in. Unlike most center caps ive seen which are plastic and have a metal ring which is like spring loaded that keeps it in (ex: http://c1552172.r72.cf0.rackcdn.com/402416_x800.jpg)

my rear tires are 275/35/20, which I know are a little too tall, but shouldn't effect the width(just making sure this isn't an issue outside of the speedo)

A friend of mine is running Velgen 8's , 20x9+35F,20x10.5+45R with no problems. (275/30/20 in rear)
I threw a +5mm wheel spacer on my rear to try and make room, but it would leave the fender to hit the tire.

Is it safe to shave down the ends of the axle?

I can't figure out how to get these to fit considering other people have these on their sedans without a problem?

ex: https://www.myg37.com/forums/private...preferred.html

Funny thing is, im able to fit his velgen caps into my incurve wheels, and they fit flush without a problem, so im clueless to whats happening. I should have compared the thickness of both the center caps maybe, but something still seems off with my car not fitting the correct ones like everyone elses sedans;

I had the same problem on my FX35 with 5zigen Gravis-1 wheels long time ago. I just took off the caps... I thought about shaving it down, but decided not to.

There's been a few members that have had this problem, I'm not sure if it was just InCurve caps or not though.
Any chance you could shoot a couple pics of those caps, and even better if you can also include a pic of the Velgen cap for comparison. I imagine the caps' prongs are too long on the InCurves and if that's the case you may be able to shorten them w/ a dremel tool.

The incurve doesn't have prongs.

my centercap

It's solid, with a gasket at the edge that seats in a lip inside the wheel;

Thanks for the pic. How much room in mm do you need to get that cap to snap in. maybe just a 3mm spacer will work and still keep your tires OK at the fender? I suppose it's possible to machine the hubcentric flange down but if a 3mm will work that would be much easier.
G/L and sorry to hear of the issue

I don't know, the 5mm is gonna run the fender ANC in not sure if the 3mm will give the center cap clearance.

No one with incurves adds their comments so I'm clueless. The vendor says they don't make any other center caps and they fit other sedans with my specs.

I guess my concern is would shaving the axle cause vibrations?
Bc I can always do that to get the caps in

If it were taken to a machine shop and they could mill it down evenly there should be no vibration, but I'd still see if the smaller spacer would work first.

If i go slimmer on the spacer the center cap is gonna hit,
Is there anywhere i can get like blank centercaps with the prong/spring style seating? I could care less if it says incurve, just want somehong thatll fit, like my buddies velgen caps in my wheels..

Brad (blnewt) gave a great answer. Before shaving your axle, I'd try the 3 mm spacer. I had custom offsets previously and they had the same issue. The 3 mm spacers on the back wheels fixed it. The company later replaced the wheels and now no issues with the caps.

My axles look normal at least?

I'll try to buy a **** pair from pepboys to see if 3mm will work, if they do il buy a real good fitting set. I got the custom 5mm made so it has the hubcentric ring built in since they are a 73mm center bore wheel;

Not much room for sure, hope you can get enough room w/ a spacer, I don't think I'd want to be milling that down.

a minor wheel spacer would probably fix it. Depends on your offset of course..
