235-50-18 vs 225-50-18 tires

Looking to fill the wheelwells a bit better on a totally stock AWD setup. Is this an option?, and is it even worth it or should I just stick with stock.
I understand that the diaemter is a bit bigger so speedo would be off a bit and weight also, but is this a good alternative? I dont want to go any wider as I do alot of highway driving and dont need even worse fuel consumption.

If you want to go wider use a 245/45/18, it can mount on a 8-9.5" rim and your diameter will only differ fromn your OEM diameter by -.66%, much better than the 235s which will be off by 1.45%. I believe your OEM wheels are 8x18, but IF they're 7.5x18 you should stay w/ the 225s.

Agreed, The diameter must be < 1 for the AWD model, as if it's more 90% probability AWD light on dash "as AWD system will over heat"

Best of luck !
