Just buy new caps. Really, how much can they be? Newt, do you know?

Hmm. What are the dimensions of those caps? I wonder which aftermarket rims they fit... OT, sorry.

Actually the center caps from his OEM 17s should fit if he plans on keeping them. I'd imagine the caps are a ripoff, especially if you'd need to order 4

I think the caps were plastidipped before the paint. Can't I just spray them with WD 40 to remove it?

If you're thinking the OEM caps will fit your new vossens think again. The OEM caps are like 50mm(+or-) the vossen caps are like 70mm(+or-). I had to keep the vossen caps on for this same reason.

That was what I was thinking. And now I'm not anymore, thank you very much.

On topic, I took a few moments and browsed around for the OEM caps... and even on ebay they're like $20, for some ungodly reason. So maybe cleaning and painting the caps that came on these pumpkins isn't a bad idea.

I'm gonna try one in WD 40 and see how it goes. I'll post a pic tonight. If I have to I can buy a set of centercaps, I'll just make a few calls Monday if the removal fails, but it looks like he had a paint brush and painted the Fuji part over plastidip.

Well, it's certainly something I'd figure out the day the wheels arrive. Until then, I'm just spinning my (mouse) wheels.

So many puns...

LOL. So much fail there. The Gods are pleased to know those wheels are in proper hands now.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I've been watching movies with the wife and kids while I wait for the plastidip soak. I just hope the crap all comes off.

Mineral spirits does wonders on light paints. It's a great solvent and not very aggresive.

Coupe 19s (older style) are a tried and true wheel upgrade for G sedans, will likely go that route when the time comes (when OEM tires run out)

GUNMETAL on black is also a top combo, TONS of performance models (from Nissan and elsewhere) use it with great effect. Says "OEM sport" better than any other color IMO. Looking fwd to seeing how they come out (what the heck was the halloween theme about?)

Well looks like he had powdercoated the wheels and the center caps too. Phase 2. Seeing how many coats of plastidip he put on there.

Wife has been giving me crap all weekend. She doesn't understand how good of a deal I got on the wheels, and every time I see a decent deal an anything she feels as though it's a waste. Fellas, I need some advice. Should I wait and get coilovers or buy a set of springs known to not cause camber issues? How in the hell do I save up for the stuff I want without making myself look like a.. donkey. I'm trying to compromise but I don't want to throw my money away on tires every 6-8 months. Trying to explain this is difficult lol.

I think he was going for a different look than anyone else in the area. Kinda annoys me that I can't just get them powdercoated, but I'm gonna do this right. I'm gonna make sure they are done up properly because that's how I think any car lover would. I'm excited too. Just wish it was Monday so I could call my boy up about getting them in there. Still trying to decide on tire setups... 225/45/19 & 245/40/19 or 245/40/19s & 285/35/19s. I've really been stressing over it needlessly. I want to go big, but I'm nervous with there being some uncertainty on dropping the car. I haven't dropped a car in 7 years, and it was an STI back then. I also had a very knowledgeable friend who I hung around who helped me with decisions. Geez I'm like a new comedian on amatur night...help...please...

Oh Brad my friend, the importpartspro guy says the eibach pro kit will work with my X sedan?? I asked him to be sure and he says that the kit is made for a coupe but works with the sedan. Is this right? also... http://www.ebay.com/itm/200935931557...84.m1423.l2649 these appear to be the Swifts we previously talked about? I've heard such good things about Eibach and Swift that I'm unsure which to go with..

Here's some advice you don't want: don't drop the car. Chill for another year and get good with the wife.

The Swifts should be a milder drop than Eibachs and from all the reviews I've read the Swifts also keep the comfort level closer to stock. I used to be of the school of thought that as long as the camber is close & the toe is in spec it's all good but have since come around to strongly recommending camber kits and usually the rear toe kit when lowering your G. If you keep your G lowered for a few years the cost of increased tire wear would pay for the kits. IMO the peace of mind having your alignment correct is worth the price by itself. But I also know how it can be tough getting the budget for all the mods you want to do and like Rochester mentioned keeping things happy in the home should take priority. You could start out w/ just the springs and add the arms as your budget allows, it seems like the Swift springs might be better than the current coils that are available for the X. You might want to PM a few of the guys w/ Swifts and see how they're feeling about the springs after having them for awhile and might also see how their tire wear has been if they didn't opt for the camber help.

But I would go big on the tires, that I can't stress enough
