Thoughts...

My wheels have some curb rash, i plan on getting it fixed this winter. Ive also thought about getting them powdercoated a gloss black, gun metal or maybe a bronze color? What do you think the best choice would be for my lakeshore sedan. I also plan to blacken out all the chrome trim, paint headlights & grill black.

Heres a picture...

My suggestion would be to buy a can of black and a can of gun metal plastidip and test it out on your rims so you can get a better idea of what you would like. spray one side black then spray the other side gun metal and then decide which way you'd rather go and then peel it off and take it to get it powder coated. It may take a couple of hours to do it but at least you'll come out at the end of the day knowing which color you want to go with.

Personally... powder-coating sketches me out. Wheel's aren't rated to be heated that much, you can compromise their strength.

Powdercoat them the same color as your car.
Those are sexy wheels. Are they the Z front wheels all around?

[COLOR=#333333][FONT=Verdana]Huh? Anyway I have had many rims powder coated over the years with no ill effects. My Porsche has powder coated rims on it right now. If they were steel rims I might agree with you. 200 degrees for 10 minutes is something your wheels very well could see during regular usage. Especially people who track their cars.

Gun Metal! Definitely!

Go with PlastiDip first to see if you like it, then have them painted by a good shop

Keep in mind the gunmetal Dip isn't close to being gunmetal, trust me I know firsthand, it's more like Elephant Gray.
But my vote is for Gunmetal too, just not what PDip calls gunmetal

That's 200c... 392 degrees f, way hotter than a wheel gets when you track your car. Also, just fyi, 300-400f is the normal annealing range for most aluminum alloys... just food for thought.

As for your experience with powder coating, I am fully aware that a lot of people powder coat with no ill effects, just because nothing bad happens doesn't mean you didn't weaken your wheel, potentially making it more prone to damage.
