Review Winter Tires: Michelin X-Ice
Winter Tires: Michelin X-Ice
G37x coupe
225/55R-17 (winter)
stock set-up for the summer
For anyone looking for a set of winter tires, I went with Michelin X-Ice last winter and they were great around Seattle. I bought a set of 17" rims from a sedan for some extra sidewall and everything worked really, really well. I was worried the tires would be loud due to the deeper tread, but they were actually much quieter than the stock 18" set-up. I even went skiing a couple times and the car handled great when it was snowing pretty hard.
Good luck!

I second this. A bit squirmy in rain and braking was worse in the dry but amazing in snow and whatever else we had in new england this past winter. I have the xi3 ro be exact. Best $600 I ever spent on tires, my x was almost useless in the snow before I got them.
Well Neal, I should mention that I purchased the tires from Tire Rack and had the local Sears mount them. It was really easy and I will likely go this route for my next tire purchase. Great experience.
