Drove the Q50 yesterday and was blown away. It made my wobbly squishy G feel like a Camry. Build quality is much better as well.

Too me it kinda just made the G look bland.. The Gs shape was just so signature but I think this is a good evolution of it. Very aggressive.

I really have no faults with this car other than I wouldn't order it with that direct adaptive steer. I liked the turn in and thought it was a pretty precise handling car but it just felt numb and involving. I prefer the regular base car's hydraulic steering paired with sport and the 19" wheels on some different rubber. Then the car will drive absolutely beautifully. The car is flat and nimble in the corners even with AWD. Can't imagine what it is like with proper rear wheel drive. Stereo is another step up as well.

People are always slow to accept change especially die hard G37 Forum members lol, the Q-50 looks bad *** it looks so much more mean that the G37 almost like a shark. Im saying this even though I own a 2012 G37 I warmed up to the G37 I thought the look was a little 2 bubbly and round and just dated but I love mine at this point with what I have done to it but I really like the Q-50 and 2-3 years from now when they have a Q-50 hybrid on the lot with low miles Im gonna trade into one the interrior and technology I just must have. And its not like you have to be comparing the Q as a Successor to the G because they are seperate models the Q is a little (just a hair longer and wider) the backseat is alot better and the fold down backseats are a awesome addition. To sum it up the ones who are throwing the most stones at the Q will prob be some of the first ones to trade there Gs in for one and post on this forum LOL.

That's because your wobbly squishy AWD G doesn't have the actual sport suspension. And if your 2013 is still riding on OEM A/S tires... well, there's a whole bucket of squishy for you.

I drove the Q hard into a few turns, and hard enough out of a dead stop into a turn so that the TC started flashing, and the god's honest truth is that the Q50S AWD had less capable handling than my 6MT (with Eibach sways and PSS). And when you're not in Sport Mode... let me put it this way; I literally was asking the salesman what was wrong with the car. He flipped the switch to Sport Mode, and all was right with the world again. Talk about wobbly squishy. Sadly, there was no button to press which would give the Q any throttle response, because there was none. Zip. Zero. From what others have said, it seems the AWD 7AT is to blame for that. Either way... yuck.

So while you were blown away, I was equally unimpressed. Go figure.

Go drive a non sport G sedan and then drive a Q50 non sport. You will see the improvements. I have Michelin PSS on my AWD because the A/S weren't cutting it and it still handles like a beluga whale. But having not driven the RWD Sport Q50, I have nothing to compare my old 08 G35S to. I just know this, the AWD Sport Q50 actually feels sporty. My car feels like a turd in comparison. I would really like to drive a RWD Sport Q50.

That's probably true. Apple to Apples.

You put PSS on your AWD? Nicely done, Wannabe.

I know my dealer so well that they actually bought the set for me and took my **** *** Dunlops with 2,000 miles on them. The PSS help but now the tires out handle the car. It blows my mind how much different two seemingly identical cars can be. I can tell you now this will be my last AWD car. Absolutely kills the fun fact of the G. I could give a rats *** less about being able to launch out of the hole when the first corner I take it to it heaves and hoes its way out of it.

+1

I bought my G for its realibility as a DD/commuter, not for its looks, the sports package, drop and wheels make it enjoyable.

Infiniti needed this refresh, they have been behind with their styling for years.
