Wheel upgrade to TSW NURBURGRING, sticking to factory wheel spec

I originally had my eyes on Vossen CV2, however they don't come in 18" and for the same size TSW NURBURGRING is a lot cheaper than Vossen. I have not heard bad reviews on the TSW so I think I might give it a try.

I have 2012 G37xS sedan, the factory wheel/tire spec is 18x7.5 225/50R18, I'll stick to that spec on the TSW wheel so I DON'T have to purchase new tires and therefore save money now for other mods.

I am looking for cost effective wheel upgrade solely for looks, so tell me if I should do it. What are your suggestions?

(PS: I am planning for BBK upgrade in the future if that matters)

I'm not a fan of aftermarket wheels, especially mesh design, in factory size/tires. I've seen a lot of aftermarket wheels in stock sizes and they look a little goofy. If your goal is to save money for other mods, you're better off sticking with stock wheels, as aftermarket wheels in stock sizes typcially hurt the "look" of your car. Just my opinion. But good wheel choice though.

I've always been fond of TSW's wheel designs but what always deterred me from them was how heavy they were despite almost always being manufactured using a low-pressure casting design or what TSW is now calling "rotory forging"- a process originating from O.Z. Racing. However, with the 18" versions of this wheel tipping the scales at just under 20lbs with most in the 18lb range where most of TSW's previous 18" wheels exceeded 25lbs, I'm quite fond of the Nurburgring (the wheel AND the track, too..heh).

I had 20" TSW Snettertons for a while on my G and loved them. And contrary to Phil's concern... They were actually very lightweight (~23 lbs front and ~24 rear). This was less than the factory coupe 19" Enkei wheels that they replaced! Call TSW and find out the weights of these before making a decision. If you were considering Vossen's though, that might not even be your concern...

I will also say this... Do not replace them with factory specs! It is definitely something Nissan/Infiniti do not do as well as thier competitors in sizing wheels for their vehicles. I would say at least go with 19"s due to how big this car is and also go with a wider wheel and a little lower offsets... You can still stay conservative though... This is just my advice as I would hate for you to regret it later!

Just wonder how many of you sell your stock wheels to makeup the cost of the new aftermarket wheel? I wonder if I should keep the stock wheels around in case I change my mind later on.

I have 19" Nurburgrings on my x Coupe:


I'm really happy with them. The only issue I've had is that I lost the front center caps on the track at Watkins Glen. $14 each to replace. I'll be sure to remove them the next time I go to the track...

This is 19x9, mods by 180custom. I am very tempted to go for the same spec now. It's aggresive enough for my taste.

Thanks op for directing me to this. I an also looking for new wheels for my DD x sedan. I am more interested in comfort of the ride and function. Others recommended to go at least 19 but for this tire size its more expensive so I probably will go with 20s. What width and offset you planning to get for your X? And you think we need spacer? Sorry for the noob question... new to this wheel thing.

If you go with 20's, you'll have to go with a lower profile tire. Obviously, it's not that much lower than what the tires would be with 19's. I rode in a few G sedan's with 20's, and I went with 19's to get more tire to absorb bumps. 19's were slightly more expensive, but not enough to influence my decision.

You shouldn't need spacers with the right wheels. Spacers either help you clear brake calipers or stick the wheels our farther, but most wheels are designed to fit in a stock situation.

Here's my 19's, which are now for sale because the car is going off lease. Either way, I'm sure you'll be more happy than with stock!

Looks good. How wide is the wheel? Did you go staggered? How is the ride quality compare to stock?

Using tire track as a price reference and Michelin pss as a base, the price difference was about $180 for 4 in the same size. I was actually interested in the continental dws all season and the 19 was about $160 cheaper than the 20s.

For the nurburgring in 20s, we have the option for 8.5 front and either 8.5 or 10 in the rear vs the 19s 8.5 front and 9.5 rear. Does that mean this is a stagger setup?
