Replacing all 4 tires, do I need to replace Valve Stems and buyTPMS Rebuild Kit?

I'm replacing all 4 tires due to wear & tear on my 2008 G37 Sport with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. Do I need to replace valve stems and buy TPMS rebuild kits as well? Home - Discount Tire Direct suggest that I do that...Can anybody chime in on that? I do not have any issues with my TPMS sensors whatsoever...

You should replace valve stems even though it's not absolutely necessary. You do NOT need a TPMS rebuild kit (.25 worth of O-rings) at all. Don't let them tell you it's necessary or your TPMS won't work right. It's just an easy profit item that they try to force or scare customers into buying.

You should have bought your PSS a few weeks ago. There was a $70 rebate from Michelin when buying 4 as well as an additional $100 rebate from Discount Tire. I have a friend who is a manager there and I got a set for my wife's 09 Sedan in 18" for under a little under$1K plus the rebates. Unfortunately the 20" for my coupe are a lot more.

I don't entirely agree. The car is 4 yrs old (maybe more). The rubber orings do dry out. It would be cheap insurance to replace them now rather than deal with a leaky valve stem later. While I don't think they're worth the price charged, see if you can negotiate to have them thrown in for free or some discounted rate.

As BB said above, they have nothing to do with tpms functionality (the orings that is) - the valve stem itself is the tpms transducer.

Thank you all for you replies. I'm thinking about purchasing my tires at Costco and installing them at Costco as well since they still have $70 MIR deal going with free rotation and balance for life of the tires. What are your opinions on getting the job done at Costco? Do you think they have the proper equipment to balance 19" sport rims? I've noticed that the balance weights on the rims are very uniquely shaped...

Once the gaskets are compressed they really can't be reused, regardless of age. It's recommended to have the sensor rebuild kit done with each tire change. For as little as they cost it's good piece of mind.
