I was researching the same thing. The answer to this question is in post #176 on page 12 of this thread. BLNEWT got a great flush fit with a 20x10 +45 and was able to run a 295/30 without lots of negative camber. If you were going 19" you'd probably want to use a 295/35.

Easy assumption to make.. It seems many more people are running 10.5 in the rear than 10. I am in the process of selecting some upgraded wheels and tires myself. It appears that with the 10" wheel you can run a 295 tire with a +45 offset. As BLNEWT measured, that will give you 2mm clearance to the fender. Unfortunately, a 10.5 wheel with the same offset and tire would stick out about 4mm and require a good deal of neg camber. I've had a hard time finding a 10" +45 rear wheel that fits my taste and my budget, so its looking like I may also go with a 10.5 wheel and use a 285mm tire to be safe.

If you go 10.5 w/ the same fit as mine you'd want a +50 offset, but if you look at dagon68s Sedan he's running 295s on a 10.5 +45 and sneaks them in, not sure what camber he's running, might want to shoot him a PM for more specifics.

Keep in mind the originator of this fine thread "Robert K" is running a 10.5 +45 19" w/ 285s and the fit is spot-on w/ in-spec camber.

Another variable that really isn't talked about much is the width of the tires themselves and how they can fluctuate (at the same stated size) from brand to brand. In my research, I've seen 285 width tires measuring between 11.0" and 11.4" as per manufacturer specs. That equates up to +/- 5mm of width fluctuation on both the suspension and the fender side. That variance can certainly make or break a fitment, ride height and camber adjustments not withstanding.
What's most amazing about your setup, BLNEWT, is that your 295 tires have an advertised width of 11.9" and they certainly only fit because you found the perfect wheel size and offset for them. I would simply emulate your setup since I would love to run the 295, but I'm having trouble finding 20x10" +45 or 20x10.5 +50 wheels to choose from.

Have fun w/ your search & good luck BTW if there's a particular style you're after I've done a fair amount of wheel searching so I may be able to give you some further choices.

Hey all yes I am running a 10.5 with 295 with no issues. I am dropped on swift springs. I tell everyone to shave the bumper bracket in the rear and shave the plastic hump on the front fender liner (just behind the headlights) but to honest I have done neither. I have rubbed in these areas on occasion but nothing bad enough to cause me to trim this stuff. I was on stock alignment for over a year until recently I took it to a shop and they just adjusted the rear by changing a bolt to give them more play to adjust. I don't know what the alignment specs are or I would post them. Here is a picture of the wheel compressed on a hill. As you can see it cambers in just fine with know issues. anyway if anyone has any questions or needs more pictures just PM me or post here I will be more than happy to help :P

One aspect of the "fat tire" upgrade I haven't seen commented on too often is traction.
How has off-the-line traction and the overall performance dynamics of the car changed when everyone went to their wide tire setup?

I can still spin my rears easily but if I take off right I get a nice jump out of the hole Definitely better traction. Handling is also much better. I put my wheels on before I had the springs and I could tell a difference in traction and control but once I lowered it, it felt more "on rails". The alignment added some tightness to it all. I feel no power loss with regards to "rotational mass" from the weight/size of the tires and rims. I would say in fact the opposite has happened. I feel more power and handling getting to the pavement

Traction is relative to the tires. With that said more tire patch increases traction. However increase tire patch also leads to increase hydroplaning. Why one must buy a great tire.
Also make note that with larger wheels/tires you can have increased rotational mass which takes more torque/power to turn. This is why I'm a big advocate for a top-of-the-line wheels/tires that has a low rotational mass.
There is always a negative with a positive when modding/building cars. Cheap, Fast, Reliable; Pick two.

Yes I have noticed this. My skid control (or whatever its called) saved me.
Oh so true. I was very concerned with the weight of Vossens when I was looking into what to buy but in the end I ended up going with them. Mainly because of my budget but if I had the extra dough I would have gone with a light weight wheel over these any day.

Fat Tire Full Square Setup for Sedan
First off, love this thread! Just read all 42 pages tonight. (Yeah, my eyes are a little blurry.)
So here's my question:
I have an '07 G35x Sedan on stock springs for now but going to Eibach Pro-Kit soon for mild drop. I autocross my car and want the largest rubber I can get on there (especially in the front) and stay full square.
There's a set of 19x9.5 +42 Enkei RPF1 wheels with 275/35/19 tires on them on craigslist right now. I really want them but I'm a little worried about the fronts hitting my fender lip. I didn't see this exact size discussed for the front of sedan so thought I'd ask. Any input greatly appreciated!

I'd use the tire calculator and plug in your old specs and then post the new specs, use the new reading w/ a strait edge out on your car to see exactly the amount of extension in the wheel well. I'm thinking 275s in front is a bit much, probably be about 5mm outside the fender once you drop it. Like you noticed you don't see the wider tires up front, the fender isn't rolled like the rear so it's not as easy to fit. You could just get new front 245/40/19s but they'd be stretched a bit on a 9.5.

If someone wants to run 275/35 in the front of a dropped sedan looks like they could do it with 19x9.5+45 and rolling the inner fender lip. I'll post some pics of my setup later this week.
