At times, a seal can be damaged from dismounting tires as well, adn worst case scenario, the packing/shipping process....so maybe the seller was not aware of the situation to begin with. There are way to many variables with that type oif sale to "assume"......as i have had this happen to me, but got a good deal on the wheels, so i still came out ahead.
