Sedan Tire question
Sedan Tire question
I have the OEM sport coupe 19's on my sedan (staggered 19x8.5 225/45; 19x9 245/40; offsets F+43, R+45). Planning on getting a new set of tires. I've already settled on the Generals but still unsure of the size.
My question: will 245 in the front fit with no issues or will I need spacers?
Are there any issues with running 245/40 F & 265/35 R (or should I run 275/35)? Pros vs. cons of running wider sets of tires outside of the small mph/mpg differences?
I've tried searching and have actually looked through almost all the sedan threads, not to mention every thread in the picture share g sedan section. I can't always tell if the 245/265 or 275 setup will cause issues b/c most of the sedans are running real aggressive offsets, stretching tires, etc..
Note: my sedan is not lowered....yet...I am waiting on tanabe to get their shipment in which has been delayed over and over again for months now. I won't be lowering it much, maybe an inch all around, so I'm not worrying about rubbing issues.
This site has been a huge help for me since I started tinkering w/ my car so any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I went 245/40 all round, and if your going to get tires this is the best online place to get them, cheap and free shipping. I recommend the Nitto Invos great all around tire MINUS snow

with my offsets 5/10 mm less than yours, I'm wondering if the inside of the tire will rub? sounds like a dumb question but I was feeling around the wheel well and it seemed tight in there with the stock 225..
with the 245 on the front, did it reduce your turning radius?

not sure about the turning radius but there doesn't seem to be rubbing in the front, the rear tires have virtually no clearance however.

Actually, I have another question.
Do any of you running a staggered setup experience more tramlining/tracking when you switched to the staggered setup? Is it b/c of the wheel being wider or the staggered setup?
I notice it tracks more (and this is on my daily commute, so the comparison is identical) now w/ the staggered setup vs. when I was completely stock.
