The price difference is amazing between the General and Michelin. In the 225/55-17, we're talking $122 vs $195. If you go up to the 245/50-17, then it's $130 vs. $248 - almost twice as much for the Michelin.

Is it really twice as good?

Regarding the MXV4, It's classified as a "Grand Touring All Season". Does that mean it's not going to be as stable in the corners as a "Ultra High Performance All Season"? I do like that it has a 620 AA rating, though, but afraid it may be too soft.

OK, So I did end up going with the MXV4's (17") to replace the RSA's. I now have about 500 miles on them.... Extremely quiet. Extremely smooth ride... But, as TinsleyC was concerned about, the sidewalls are soft. At first it felt like they were under inflated. I brought it back to the shop, they were at 35 lbs. We bumped it up to 37lbs. Much better, but still felt a bit soft in the aggressive corners. I bumped it up to 38 lbs last night.. A bit better yet.... What pressure are others running in the MXV4's?
