Suggestions for shipping wheels/tires

Hey all,

Just wondering those of you who have experience selling your set of wheels/rims and shipping within the states.

1) Are the quotes estimation from the Fedex/USPS/UPS site accurate?
2) Which is the best company to go with for cost and reliability
3) What kind of insurance do you do?
4) What kind of packaging is recommended?
5) Any other general tips to make things go smoothly?

is this the right way to ship 20s with wheels + tires

Will fedex/ups do it for you and know how? or will you have to do it yourself?

Cheers

bump,

I noticed the online fedex quote doesn't include additional insurance. Do people normally get it?

I've only shipped my stocks from ups. Just weighed them and shipped. For packaging I used a box for each wheel and wrapped it in a **** load of tape and foam wrap.

ship them greyhound for sure! they only go on one bus, and come off one bus, avoids any extra handling of the items, and its dirt cheap!

The picture that you put up is the way I've shipped wheels before. I would recommend getting insurance cause you do not want to deal with losing a wheel and not having insurance. One of my GT30s were lost for a month, but they found it. And good thing I had insurance purchased otherwise it would have been about a $900 loss to me.
