VPP and factory order?

Can you use VPP to purchase a factory ordered car? I noticed that the VPP certificate/code expires in 45 days, so if an order takes longer than that to come in, is it still possible to use the VPP code? Also what about the current VPP discount rates and incentives? Can those get locked in at the time you place the order?

You can use VPP to order a car yes. However, VPP pricing will be determined only once a VIN number is available for the car.

That means that if it takes longer than 45 days, you lose the current incentive and hope that the next one is better (or remains the same).

alyx, thanks for clearing that up.

So after the 45 days, would i need to get a new VPP code or would the original one still be valid?

I was told you had to use VPP on a car on the lot (probably dealer's preference). However, he told me if I told him what I wanted, he could tag it and get one in for me without having to factory build it.

Are they strict on the 45 day thing? I would think if you're willing to buy the car, they could "renew" the code as long as it was never used.
