Exclamation Before you use that VPP, shop around!!!!!

Hi,

I’ve been checking this site out for days, and I finally decided to join the forum.

So, people with the Nissan VPP, make sure you do some price checking with different dealers around your area before making that deal.

Don’t automatically think that you are getting the BEST deal with that VPP, because after double, triple dipping with few different dealers I’ve noticed BIG price differences.

Some much as $100 more per month price increase.

I called and confirmed with the Nissan VPP that it is completely OK for dealers to charge little here and there to give you that price.

Some sales person might say they’ve used the VPP, but might have not done it to fool you and get extra change from you.

Right now, Money factor for Infiniti really sucks!!

Also, Cars direct is much better than the VPP so shop around.

Well the dealers are required to (at least all 3 cars I've bought with VPP) show VPP customers the VPP print out and invoice on the car with all additional fees added so if they try to slip something under you, it's really your fault for not looking at the numbers on the VPP print out.

VPP A/B WILL Not be beat. VPP C/D... well... it depends on the time of the year.

Again, VPP numbers are spit out by a computer connected to the internal Intranet, so there's no manipulation on the price of the car.

TTL is also set. The only thing(s) the dealer can mark up are the aftermarket accessories you purchase, if you choose to do so.

I've always thought of VPP like getting a good AAA discount, those not wanting to haggle or negotiate that still want a decent price can go that route, if your into the sales game and like negotiating it still make for a good base to argue from. But you can probably get a better deal the more you negotiate.

Man....

How can the carsdirect.com give out prices like this but Infiniti dealers can't do the same?

2009 Infiniti G37 Journey 4dr Rear-wheel Drive Sedan
Navigation Package
Premium Package
CarsDirect Price: $34,984

That's like $2000 under invoice!!!!!!

carsdirect.com prices ARE from dealerships.

Infiniti dealers won't give you prices because they know that you're just shopping. Most dealers generally will not quote outside of their own market.

vpp is still an awesome program to me. picking up a car at $500 over invoice with no haggling cant be beat. if you think you're going to do much better on a brand new car (09 not 08), best of luck.

Usually it's under and not over invoice. Unless you're including taxes...

It's not a fixed dollar amount, it's a percentage below the invoice cost depending on which plan you fall under. There are two groups of plans, the only differences being the percentage and delivery cost.

Categories A & B are 3.58% below invoice and $0 delivery fee.
Categories C & D are 1.65% below invoice and 2.5% delivery fee.

The remaining components of the plans are the same.

For C&D most of the cars will be ~ $350 over invoice + tax&title.

How can it be below invoice for CorD when you sustract 1.65% but then you add 2.5%?
A&B definetely rocks but who gets that? Not too many people..

before you go around shopping for a VPP pricing, go to your Human Resources department and get a claim code... that saves everyone time b/c w/o the code, it's worthlesss
