This video is a bit old, but new to me. I'm shocked at what was considered a finished turbo build on this 370Z...

I saw this a little while ago and it made me sad and angry at the same time. I know ppl are supposed to do their due diligence when searching for a shop to work on their car, but even once a (good) choice is made, it's still a roll of the dice. This was absolutely terrible and I feel even the most amateur, backyard mechanic could've (and should've) done a better job.

 

Fever Racing in Tampa, FL. Appropriately named, as this poor Z had a fever from overheating immediately with no cooling fans working.

 

agreed...after seeing Forged do a VERY sloppy job, taking short cuts on a car in the past, you know its most certainly a roll of the dice, I cant remember if it was a 350z or 370z. Im talking like 1 thread in the past decade. Thats all it takes to question a shop in my book though.

That shop is still open fyi. I live not too far from it. Honestly they don't usually do this sort of work. My guess is maybe a new mechanic. Let me say on that note however, I would look over everything before leaving a shop after work was done. Matter of fact, last shop that did my work for me allowed me to walk back in the shop and observe them working on it

 

Please don't make any excuse whatsoever for this abortion. There is absolutely NO excuse to be made. None. If the guy was brand new, they usually do a better job, etc., etc. THIS poor bastard has had his car butchered beyond even what a third rate shade tree mechanic could do while drunk and blind in one eye.

No car should ever be turned back over to a customer in that condition. Period. Ever.

Stop taking on more work than you can competently handle or that you have skilled personnel to complete.

No excuses man just saying inspect what you pay for. When it was z fever it wasn't like that. I think it got sold out

 

We had our honda in for a fender bender few months back. Part of the repair included alignment. Before the accident the steering wheel was perfect at 12 oclock when going straight. Post repairs it was more like 11:30. I refused to sign the paperwork until it was corrected.

One should never accept any type of repair work without first confirming it was done properly. Or better yet, try to do as much as you can yourself.

 

new mechanic my a$$... lead tech should at least be proofing the work before it leaves the shop
its quality control.. something every decent shop has

 

OMG, what a sad video, and can't believe what a hack job involving almost every part of that install.
That poor owner, maybe he has since had some kind of compensation at the least.

I think I threw up a little.

 

if ebay was to open a tuner/installer shop that would be it lmao
