Hows it going! Finally got a chance to start a build thread. G35 coupe in Diamond Graphite with a 6mt has been my dream car for over 12 years! Been a lurker and test driver for years and finally had the opportunity to buy the next level VQ, a G37s 6mt in K51 Platinum Graphite on Christmas 2015!
Heres my story:

Its hard to find a rwd 6mt in the North East, so this search took over 2 years when the time came.

Finally came across this car, a clean, one owner 2008 G37s on craigslist, but did not purchase it due to disagreements on price...but didn't give up..two months later got a Cars.com alert hours after it was listed at a local dealer where it was a trade in. Matched the vin number, went and saw it, and pulled the trigger at a price over 2.5k less than KBB w/ taxes!

So here she is: fully loaded 2008 G37s 6mt 42000 mi. Completely stock, sits on Yokohama AVID's. Maintained at Infiniti its whole life. Its one of the first shipments to the US in 2007

First step:

DIY Detail, car was very clean but went the extra mile to touch up chips, polish, compound, etc Wheels were also refinished

Summer time:

45k service: oil change, filter, detail at Infiniti

DIY replaced with Aero wipers, Infiniti/Nissan carbon cabin filters, and OEM Nissan/Infiniti air filters to complete the service.

Installed Diode Dynamics LED interior lights and license plate lights

Infiniti valve stem covers

Future Plans 2017:

PlastiDip rear valance (DIY)
Stainless steel brake lines (open to suggestion)

Thanks for looking!

How much do you think powder coating the brakes costs? Want to get them done in brembo gold in honor of the G35 haha

Oh man this is goals, exactly what I want to do! Plus, possibly get STR 20's (Vossen CV3 style) in graphite for a summer rim! Did you take the caliper off or did you use the brush method? Im skeptical of removing the calipers by myself because that would mean bleeding, haven't done a DIY that complicated yet haha I think if you did a DIY on this, I saw it last year haha

Be careful with those valve step caps!

Safest bet is to use plastic caps.

Metal ones can cause issues, since valve stems are metal with TPMS. Plenty of cases where cap binds to stem, necessitating TPMS replacement ($$$).

@saywat I didn't have the OEM wipers previously, they were some Champion brand wipers the previous owner put on, found the AERO wipers on Amazon for a great deal and I am very happy with the performance thus far..will update if I see any problems

BUT next time I do replace these, I will purchase OEM so I can buy the $3 refills! Thanks saywat!

DIY Tow Hook License Plate Relocation

Made mount using parts from home and a rod from Home Depot. It was finished off by a few coats of Plasti-Dip/Clearcoat for longevity/aesthetics. The plate hangs within half an inch of the bumper.

DIY color matched bumper plugs (Pep Boys GM Panel Clips, 1000 grit, primer, base, clear)
DupliColor no longer paint matches for K51 Platinum Graphite, next closest shade was Graphite Shadow (2011+ G37 grey)
