I'm getting closer to working up the nerve to bake mine. Not there yet but climbing the fence.

WE ARE STILL ON FOR JULY 31st !!!
I'm bringing a couple of old walkie-talkies to help keep the leads and the sweepers together.
If anyone has a set, feel free to bring them along as well.
I'll also have my DSLR and a tripod as it worked out great last time.
And I'll swing by Anthony Wayne Rec. Park to scout it as the initial meet-up point.
Anyone coming from the NY side of the river, Ping me and I'll help coordinate that as well.

Instead hardwired WTs this might be a great alternative to staying connected and coordinating our movements.

Update:
Okay I did a pre-run with VQNYC and discovered a few things that will help.
1) Anthony Wayne Recreational Park is def the place to meet up. It's huge, free, near Bear Mt. and easy to get to from all directions.
2) Cell reception in the Bear Mountain area is nearly non-existent. Coordination is going to be important.
3) Bear Mt. can be crowded, They even can shut down the approaches at peak hours. Having our event in the early evening is a good idea. I'm thinking like 7PM as that worked quite well for the NJ meet.
4) The drive is AWESOME! If you haven't been there, you're in for a real treat.
Next steps: I will stop by Table 9 to get details on reservations, and do a quick run down to the waterfront parks to scope out good photographic locations.

Ah man I totally missed this post sorry! I just downloaded the app and have no clue how to use it lol. I'll have to take a better look at it during my break.

No worries. The app won't work well at Bear anyway, because the cell reception is so poor.
Doesn't hurt to try but I won't be relying on it to coordinate.
I'll have to double check when I get home but I'm pretty sure I have a set of walkie talkies. So one for me and one for you I guess as of now and if anybody else has any more available please let us know! I'll text you later tonight when I get home if I do.
