Does my Elite Warranty cover these TSBs?
Hey everyone, I recently purchased a white 2008 G37s with about 80,000 miles on it. I was ecstatic about this purchase cause it's such a beauty and plus I got the Elite Warranty transferred to me. The warranty itself expires August 2016 or at 100,000 miles I believe.
I've been reading up on common TSBs such as the peeling steering wheel trim, squeaking brakes when in reverse, and deformed cluster cover.
Basically, the service guy gave me the runaround and said that these TSBs would only be covered during the original basic warranty, and not covered by the Elite warranty, being that it's at 80,000 miles. He told me the original mechanical stuff is all still covered under the Elite warranty, but not wear and tear stuff like that, despite the TSBs having been issued! He even told me he never heard of a TSB for the squeaking brakes, and that he'd like to see it if I find it. (Which I have)
Is the service guy right about the Elite warranty not covering these TSBs? Or is he simply trying to give me the runaround on these issues? I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!

TSB's aren't recalls. They are more like shop notes to help diagnose / fix a problem. Depending on the situation the problem they explain could be covered under warranty but it isn't a given.

What he said ^
Now, is your steering wheel trim really peeling, are your brakes really squealing in reverse, is your cluster really deformed??
Or are you just trying to get freebies.
The SA is right, the elite warranty won't cover wear and tear, only mechanical.
What city are you on? Ill send you to a "non uptight" dealer.

My brakes are squealing horribly in reverse. The car is a 2013 and should still be under it's original warranty period. Is this something that is covered? It's really embarrassing to be backing out of a parking space and the brakes sounding like they are about to fall off the car..

aesthetic components on a vehicle are never covered by extended warranty factory or otherwise. the purpose of the warranty policy is to cover the major repairs of mechanical and electronic components such as control modules, switches, solenoids, valve bodies, engine/trans parts, and certain suspension components. the policy is not a free pass to replace trim pieces, steering wheels, leather, door panels etc.

Select a great dealer, Print the TSB, makeup a story / explain real issue, present them the tsb and they will do it for you.
Dealers are getting paid to do whatever anyway, it's about how nice they are for you
I presented my brake TSB and my dealer asked no question.
