Ok I hope its just me but does anyone hear an odd noise on this movie? I have a link to a 30 sec clip of the engine after startup.

Its this odd click,click,click,click sound....

Much better. That sounds a lot louder than anything normal. Most likely the VVEL Tick. Search around here and there is a TSB about it and the dealer can fix it. Normally its just a matter of switching to the ester oil.

I have an 09 G37xS sedan that has had a noisy engine at startup since the day I brought it home. I don't drive it much, it only has a little over 2000 miles on it but I've had the oil changed twice with Nestor oil and it hasn't made any differance with the noisy startup. I really hate to get the dealer involved in searching out whats causing the noise so I just live with it as it stops after about 45 seconds and the engine becomes almost silent.

my .02 = mine has done that since about 14 miles, now has 6,900 miles I have changed the oil with bend-me-over-ester-from-dealer at 2,800 becouse I am **** (no pun intend) and again at 5,900 with Royal-purple-almost-bend-me-over and neither made a diff. As soon as the cats warm it goes away 90% and is more an issue at temps below 35F. Might be valve, might be water in cats burnig off, might be a small exhuast leak that seals "enough" after heated...and might just be guessing but oil did nada on my car. Plan to take it in in a few weeks for that and trany shift shock 1-2,2-3, 3-1 and 2-slipbang 1. I'll report back when able.

lame oil? the point was the nissan (the fix for noise per nissan) nor another qualiy oil option made any diff to MY problem that is ref on here to the valve chatter. This magic-snake-fix-all oil is a bit over done on here isn't it?

i have not noticed this sound on mine. i do notice it runs louder at idle when you first start and rpms are at 1500 then they drop down to 1000 after about 30 seconds. not sure i can tell by your video but if it sounds like something is wrong bring it in otherwise if it goes away after 30 seconds i wouldnt bother with it.
