M37 - Back up Camera

I've searched through the Infiniti web site and I'm pretty sure the answer is no but does the M37 have a back-up camera?

Yes, it's standard equipment on the M37, they call it the RearView Monitor...

DOH ... I feel like an idiot. I had to think a car at this price range / features would have a back up xxxxxx.

Getting mine Saturday if all goes well.

Yes it does have a back up camera, but no sonar on the back bumper. They will change this for 2013(way to long for this if you ask me, as the G has had this forever)

I don't know ... do we really need all these intrusive things that do the driving for us? I purposely didn't get the Technology package on my M as I haven't forgotten how to drive.

And when all those bells & whistles fail? My guess is you are a fan of the auto parallel park?

Cameras and proximity sensors aren't driving the car for you, they're just helping you to see whats around you to make you a better driver. The first time they keep you from backing over the neighbor's kid's big wheel right behind your car, or worse yet, the kid himself playing hide and seek behind your back bumper you'll be really glad.

Yes, you could/should walk behind your car to check every time you back out of your driveway but realistically you don't.

I agree with this 100%, I actually like the sensors better than the camera. And no, I will not let a car parallel park for me.

Well the lane departure system is a proximity sensor and if you make a highway lane change without using your signal the car will brake for you so some proximity do provide driving actions for you but your point is well taken.

And yes I do walk around my car, I check for stupid kids putting something under my tires.

Really? Why are you changing lanes without signaling? You are "that guy"!!! Maybe you should drive be driving a BMW. You could also learn to tailgate, cut other drivers off, drive for miles with a phone glued to your ear, and drive slowly in the left lane.

JK of course. But I know what you mean. However I don't find driving aids like those (I love the intelligent cruise control) take away from the driving experience for me, especially on long highway drives. On a track is a completely different story but as we all know only too well, this car is not geared at all toward tracking or designed with that kind of owner in mind.
