Ok, so I received my throttle controller today from Amplified. Thanks guys! Here are my thoughts.
Firstly, the Blitz Throttle Controller (BTC) for the G is vehicle specific. Simple plug and play. No need to run a wire through the firewall or tap a 12v source. The accelerator position sensor is a little tough to get too since it sit behind a plastic cover under the accelerator pedal. But you can access it without removing the cover. If you look at your plastic cover, the sensor connects at the top right hand corner of the cover. The hardest part was disconnecting the sensor. But with a little effort, you can disconnect it without removing the cover. The vehicle specific harness that comes with the kit plugs between both ends of the accelerator sensor and then into the main unit. Then plug the controller wire into the main unit, and you're good to go.
I will say this. It seems way overpriced. I was a little shocked at the cheap plastic connectors on the harness. They seem really cheap...maybe it's just me.
Once connected, I used the included double sided tape to mount the unit and started the car. The unit will automatically turn off whenever the car is turned off and then turned back on. Good safety feature.
The unit has 4 settings...eco, sp1, sp2, & sp3.
From the instruction manual:
eco is tuned to be more responsive at the lower end of the accelerator.
sp1 is tuned for overall response.
sp2 is tuned about twice the ratio of sp1.
sp3 is tuned so the throttle will be at max at half the accelerator.
Overall, the unit does what it says. Using eco or sp1, there's a small difference between those settings and stock. However, when you step up to sp2 or sp3, small accelerator inputs make the car accelerate briskly. To be honest, the G should have come from the factory with these settings.
Should you buy it?? Hard to say. On the plus side, it does make the G more fun to drive and gets rid of the laggy throttle. In addition, it does what it says it does. How many products have G owners bought only to find that the claims are less than honest? On the negative side, it's not cheap. And imo, the quality of the connectors seem cheap for what you're paying for it.
Yes you can go get a tune and have the throttle sensitivity increased, but for those guys who have no plans to get a tune, this is a good alternative...albeit not cheap.
Btw, I'm a G sedan - 7AT. Hope this helps guys.

One more thing...
I have read on other forums that using a throttle controller while in reverse can damage the tranny. Not sure how accurate that is, but some other companies have incorporated a reverse cancellation unit which turns the unit off or cancels the effect when reverse is engaged. So, perhaps there's something to it. I don't know if Blitz has the reverse cancellation unit, but it might be good to inquire.
