Possibly Moving to L.A. within the next month.... really looking anyone's input
One thing about Socal is that it's a very metropolis where exactly in Socal are you moving to? It will all depend on the area where your dream job will be. Some areas are better than others but then again if it's better it will be more expensive. Traffic is pretty much a part of life here if you don't want to be stuck in it then live closer to your job if traffic is ok then I guess it won't matter. Mind you though traffic here is no joke it will be enough to drive you insane if you are not use to it.

^^Car pool lanes do help. Lane splitting is also legal.
Most things seem further apart than in the midwest, more traveling involved. Some neighborhoods are to be avoided. Might get bullet holes in the car.

Earthquake, tornado, flash flood, etc., etc., the fact of the matter is if it's your time then it's your time. You can slip in your bathroom floor and crack your head open....then an earthquake happens, your whole place crashes down on you just before a tornado hits your house flash flood carries you out the back when your neighbors SUV that was picked up by the tornado slams at your helpless body just to make sure your dead.....see no suffering...
Earthquake is nothing more than a foot massage if you're standing up that is...

The pros are tons of things to do, car meets, car shows, sports events, live concerts, nice cars, nice weather, women, cheap labor (if needed) big businesses.
The cons are the price, sales tax, crime, the unfriendly police, in n out burger, expensive women, big businesses that aren't hiring.

Those are great.
On a side note, that's why my parents when they relocated.
They looked at Cali & real estate prices are obscene, comparing to NY.
So they settled on Vegas, only 2 hr drive to Cali.

480 square feet, in the Los Feliz neighborhood with a price tag of $449,000.
It recently hit the market so need to jump on it fast

Its not the dying part, its the mere fact that Cali has a high probability for earthquakes and then the aftermath of dealing with insurance and government for damages.
All you guys and the "earthquakes" please. I think you folks back east have been having more quakes than we have. It has been many years since we had a major quake. Yet when we did it didn't completely destroy a city like your tornado's do by wiping out entire towns. I'd rather take my chance with a quake than have to worry about a tornado touching down and completely destroying my home and my town (city).
