Visiting LA in December, help me out!
Hey guys, I'm from Northern Virginia/Wash DC. I am visiting LA from Dec 18-21. Anyone have any spots I should check out, or things I should do while there? I'm staying at a hotel off of Avenue of the Stars. I think it's about a mile from rodeo drive? Any hints/suggestions would be great! Thanks

Rodeo is just for expensive shopping. Hollywood has the best night life going on, I'd say start at Hollywood and Highland, and explore from there. After you see some of the clubs in the area, if that's what you like doing, just check them out online to see what nights are good. Typically you'll have to do a little more research to find the good clubs during the week. Weekend's your probably not going to have a bad time no matter which venue you end up at.
Other than that there's the typical sights like universal studios, china town, and hollywood during the day is nice too.

thanks for the info man. I'm prob not going to do much of the "night life" scene, just trying to relax and get some sights in. So the china town/hollywood stuff would be great. Do you know how far or how long of a ride that stuff is away from me? or any good places to have lunch/dinner?

The Griddle Cafe on Sunset in West Hollywood has the best breakfast you'll ever eat! The wait can be a bitch though depending on when you go; particularly on a weekend. Where else can you get pancakes the size of manhole covers with chocolate chips, Kaluha/Baileys, etc. Don't order too much food because each dish is more than 1 human being can eat in a day. We sat in the "VIP" rooms in the back; kind of grungy but cool to have your own private room to eat a delicious huge meal. I like the beach in Santa Monica personally.

Off the 10 fwy, I believe he's refering to 3rd street promenade as I know it to be called. You'll have to take the 10 until you are basically going to drive into the ocean.
If your in Century City, try Rock Sugar, its a new restaurant by The Cheesecake Factory. We've gone there and its really good stuff, and asian fusion, more so on the asian side that PF Changs doesn't cover.
