Texas - New retro license plates are back!

New Texas license plates have old look | khou.com Houston

The old white with black letters are back, they are the new standard plates. They are finally discontinuing that ugly red/white/blue/black mountain range crap of a license plate they issued since 2009!

This should go in the south section.

But it doesn't affect me. I have the old school plates on my 08 and instead of the 7 letter/number I have the 6 letter/number.

Jelly?

SO tempted to get the black plates with white letters. Wish the plate with the barb wire didn't have a super vain message on it, "All hail the mighty state!" in all caps, *smh*, really? How about all black, white letters, and a white TEXAS? Some times less is more, simple and classy.

Dzil that's exactly what I thought as well. I like that plate as well except for the message. But the cost of those custom plate prices has gone up..so I'll just stick to this new plate they gave me.

You can get some custom Texas plates from here for a good price:
***Custom Novelty License Plates! - starting at $20.00*** - Houston-Imports.com

These are REPLICA plates, but I've never had any issues from the law with them on. Greg is awesome. Here's mine:

Ghost face thats pretty awesome. I'm tempted to get one..kind of paranoid to use it daily though. Did you just put your current plate numbers from the old plate on there?

Yeah I just used my current plate numbers on them. I have a set on my boosted TC next to the G. Haven't had any problems for 2+ years. Just get the reflective plate and you should be fine. I also know quite a few people who rock them daily as well.
