Just looking for suggestions for LED reverse bulbs and possibly license plate bulbs for our 2013 G37x. I have heard that replacing the reverse bulbs will give a bit more vision on the reverse camera, not sure how true that is. Do I need a special type of LED bulb with a resistor so the car doesn't throw a bulb out warning? Thanks!

 

You only need a resistor for turn signal bulbs.

I can't recommend any reverse light LEDs since most don't reflect that well within the housing compared to the normal stock bulb. On the other hand, I've tested out several LEDs for the license plate bulbs, and the HP5 that Diode Dynamics sells is the whitest and brightest. That definitely helps when backing up.

Those are the bulbs I have in my reverse LEDs. They fire back into the housing and that gets reflected back out onto the ground.

They are definitely bright but they don't flood the ground with light as well as stocks do, they do however throw light as well as stocks.

 

I usually buy all my LED's through V-LED's with the exception to my reverse LED. This one has tons of light spread on the floor so you can see in the backup camera plus it's pure white. There isn't any hue of blue. Did I mention it's $6.77?

Reverse bulbs in LED are very attractive, but you will suffer some lack of usefulness. Not a whole lot, but noticeable nonetheless.

As for plate bulbs... most people go with white LED over the rear tags, and it's a good look. However, I went with Amber LED. Here's an old pic of both:

 

Could you possible post a pic? A comparison OEM one with these would be great, but anything will do.

What's the point of replacing backup bulbs if not to improve luminosity? Stock bulbs are barely usable. For $7 for a set, I'd buy a pair too if they work.

 

I will try once I get home from work. Although, someone already posted on this forum an output pic. That's how I found them through a search on this forum.

I'd even say they're brighter than the 194 $25 V-LED's has.

I have the Samsung T15's too. In my opinion, hands down, they are brighter than stock or whatever. Surprisingly strong. You won't be disappointed.

Not only do they improve visibility while I'm backing up, they illuminate my neighbor's house at 6 AM.
