I've been using this site since 2007 on a mobile device using the non mobile version on Safari. Never a pop up.

Seems to have stopped - fingers crossed!

Was irritating as I would visit the site, specifically new posts, then click on a post and get the pop-up - then the new post would disappear. :-(

Yup... They have stopped... Thank god cuz it made the site unusable...
