Pop-up when visiting site

Been getting the pop-up below for the last few weeks. I can close the tab then browser and come back without issues - only notice it here. Running Nougat and using Chrome.

That's a scam to get you to install that app. There are several programs that can stop those kinds of things. BitDefender is one, Malwarebytes is another. I like SpyBot Search & Destroy.

None of those have pop up blockers do they? uBlock Origin is where it's at for pop up blockers.

I use Ad-Block Plus when browsing this site from my PC. I hate to do that but this site is stupid heavy with pop-ups and ads in general. It's so bad I can't browse here on my PC due to ridiculous time needed to serve all the ads.

My iPad doesn't need it.

Ad blockers are browser add-ins, usually. The programs in my other post are run by the OS and have a memory-resident module that prevents drive-by installations and other darker events.

wow people still use spybot? i found it to be quite useless back on 2003.

from wiki "Although PC Magazine initially rated it highly in 2003, their rating declined to "poor" in 2008 and "dismal" in 2012, improving to "fair" in 2014"

If using chrome I would definitely check extensions installed as most of the time adware hides itself in there as random apps or random names. Otherwise I would scan your PC for sure, there is adware hidden somewhere inside it. Or clear out your browser as well.

Download Firefox. It works better anyway, and I use it on my phone and have never seen the popup.
