Wheel/tire calculations in wheel/tire subforum

Just wondering if we could add some functionality to the wheel/tire subforum. When looking at wheels I'm always impressed when sites have offset calculation and tire size calculations on the top of each thread. E90post has what I'm referring to. Wheels and Tires Forum Sponsored by The Tire Rack - E90Post - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I think it could help everybody out and we would see less duplicate threads on "will I need spacers" and "will this tire fit." Just my 2 cents on it, not sure if we can even get something like this, but figured I'd ask.

I think this is one of the best ideas I've ever heard put forth on this forum. Administrators, what's up? Let's do it.

Hey Fella's

I took this up to one of our IB Admins and here's the response I got:

"Hey Sam,
While I think that would be an awesome tool to have, that product would seem to belong to BimmerPost and therefore we would most likely have to create and develop our own product that is similar. We can look to see if there is a vBulletin product out there somewhere that does the same task but at this point we wouldn't have the resources available to develop it ourselves with the other projects we have in the queue. I will certainly keep this in mind though as I think it would really benefit the members across our communities and it is worth talking about in the future when looking at possible items to develop.

all the best,

Nolan"

Oh, got it. Thanks for checking with IB about this idea. I might have an idea for a work around, but its gonna take some time to get it together.

I use these two. The latter includes fields for width and offset to help visualize the wheel.
