Hosting pics
hey mods, maybe you can sticky a thread showing how to post pics not as attachments. for everyones viewing pleasure, can we all use a photo hosting site and insert pasted images? it is as easy, maybe even easier than using attachments.
Why can't you...
lol
I'm in the process of writing a Newbee guide and it seems like everytime I think I'm almost done, time to add more stuff!
For those of you who aren't familiar with hosting an image, i'll explain an easy way to do it.
You can use any hosting site but I like to use imageshack for random files.
1) Go to www.imageshack.us
2) Top right of the webpage, upload your photo, resize it to about ~600x800, then click 'Host It'
3) A new window will open with several codes, and links with regards to the image. Select the last option 'Direct Link to Image' copy that URL.
4) Return to the forum and select the icon to the right of the hyperlink icon on the message toolbar and then paste the URL.
The message box will contain the html code "" (you can also manually type ) now and now you can post your picture. No matter what size you host the picture at the forum will automatically resize it for best fit.
