Guys... we have a problem here... First there are way too many subforums on this board for one car model... it makes it not as user friendly and less people are going to click through all of the subforums which means less viewers/responders to each post.
Second... I just posted a pretty important thread about G37 exhaust rattle in the main forum because I want everyone to see it so we can get an idea how many people have this issue and see who has been able to get it fixed. Not only do I feel this should stay in the main forum, but a moderator should make it a sticky. There are a couple other posts that also got moved and people were asking for sticky's on those threads as well. Yet a moderator moved it to the Tech Area > Brakes, Suspension, Wheels & Tires forum? That doesn't even make sense.
I know you guys are trying to do your job but take a step back and realize that these forums are for the owners/drivers/etc and are supported by ad revenue from the clicks we make on your pages. Please be a little bit easier on us, and maybe occasionally try to help.

LOL, just fyi that uber important exhaust rattle thread has been posted 10+ times on every subforum possible..
If you took a look at the THOUSANDS of threads that our posted throughout this forum you will understand very quickly why there are many subforums. The purpose of Moderation and taxonomy of forum categories is to HELP everyone in their search, which you obviously did not perform or you'd have noticed the exhaust thread posted, in its proper subforum, many times.

Bro... the majority of people here click "new posts" at the top in the blue bar... It shows everypost no matter where it is... trust me... people are seeing your thread... there just not replying cause its been...

Your thread has been merged to the Muffler Rattle Video thread and that one has been stickyed. That thread has video(s) of the problem so it is much more helpful for individuals. Your write up is there also to help out.
I did search before and found several threads on the topic with no obvious solution, so thats why I was asking for a sticky.
I have a feeling a bunch of the people giving the useless replies probably don't even own a G37 and therefore don't even care.

You must be right... i've been on car forums since I had my 97 Accord and this is definitely the most moderated board ive been on. Its probably just a couple over zelous moderators doing it.
Obviously... I already took it in once and they "tightened some metal sheilding and added additional insulation" which didn't do jack. As most dealers try to do the least work possible with the goal of getting customers to stop asking for warranty repairs it helps to have as much knowledge on the subject as possible. Ultimately if we find out there is a TSB that would be best. Im trying not to have to take it back multiple times to get it fixed.
I think the reason why the mods are resistant to yet another post on the topic is because if you had read any of the other posts, you would have probably seen that the fix is to take it to a dealership and have them replace your exhaust system under warranty. I don't have the problem but I read the posts. They said take it to the dealer and have it replaced.
It's not even close to the most moderated forum I've been a part of, I think there are certain things like gratuitous postwhoring that are way out of control here.
But the point of my post is to tell you to take your car to the dealer to get your exhaust replaced. I think that will fix it. If you take it to the dealer and have it replaced under warranty, that is. Maybe we could start another thread with a poll that asks people who have the problem how they have gotten it ifxed? Choices could be 1) Take it to the dealership and have your exhaust system replaced under warranty, 2) Take it to the dealership and have your exhaust system replaced under warranty, 3) Take it to the dealership and have your exhaust system replaced under warranty, or 4) Post another thread about the exhuast rattle to see if anyone else has it and if they took it to the dealership to have it replaced under warranty. What do you think?

Maybe you live in perfect land where the your car dealers always take the straight line and do exactly what will fix your car the first time around... but in my kneck of the woods the consumer needs to be educated and be able to convince a dealer to do the work that is needed.
What if my car is the first car into my dealership with this problem and there is no national technical service bulletin? You think right off the bat the dealer is gonna just replace the whole exhuast?
I want to be able to educate my dealer on the problem and the fix if needed.
Have you ever read any of the BMW forums regarding the 335 overheating issues and the oil cooler installation? Yep, BMW dealers do the same thing... the forum users had to band together, share information and esentially force the dealers to add in oil coolers in order to fix the over heating issues.
Dealerships are are in it to make money, and unfortunely that is sometimes a conflict of interest when it comes to fixing things with new cars under warranty.
Obviously I will take my car back to my dealer, but this time I will tell them I am a member of a forum where several owners are reporting this problem, and the only fix was to replace the entire exhuast.

BTW, BMW guys should have read a magazine or 2 before buying the oil cooking 335i. I knew about it. They fixed it because it is a legitimate quality control issue and nobody would buy it if they didn't, not because "the people banded together".

Im really not trying to argue with you or start a fight... but I have owned 3 brand new cars in my life 1 honda, 1 acura, 1 infiniti and at least around here there is always a case where you need to educate the dealer on something or at least convince them that if they do a "band-aid" fix that you know enough to tell they didn't fix it correctly. I just take it as a fact of life when dealing with car dealerships.
As far as the BMW case I mentioned, I bet if you go to e90post or some other similar forum there are still several threads regarding "dealer won't install oil cooler, etc" I know the magazines pointed it out early that it was a problem but BMW corporate wouldn't admit the problem, or install them under warranty, for at least 6 months to a year after the car was out. Im still pretty sure they aren't installing it proactively, only once a car exhibits a problem. Thats the point I was trying to make about owners banding together for a common goal.
I likened my issue to that because I did read through all of the other exhuast rattle posts on this forum, and several users posted "Its just normal for the G37 to do that, my G35 always did and I guess they never fixed the problem". Another user reported "My dealer said all G37's sound like that its normal".
So I am obviously not the only one that got a bit of a run around from the dealer.
