Im really not trying to argue with you or start a fight... but I have owned 3 brand new cars in my life 1 honda, 1 acura, 1 infiniti and at least around here there is always a case where you need to educate the dealer on something or at least convince them that if they do a "band-aid" fix that you know enough to tell they didn't fix it correctly. I just take it as a fact of life when dealing with car dealerships.
As far as the BMW case I mentioned, I bet if you go to e90post or some other similar forum there are still several threads regarding "dealer won't install oil cooler, etc" I know the magazines pointed it out early that it was a problem but BMW corporate wouldn't admit the problem, or install them under warranty, for at least 6 months to a year after the car was out. Im still pretty sure they aren't installing it proactively, only once a car exhibits a problem. Thats the point I was trying to make about owners banding together for a common goal.
I likened my issue to that because I did read through all of the other exhuast rattle posts on this forum, and several users posted "Its just normal for the G37 to do that, my G35 always did and I guess they never fixed the problem". Another user reported "My dealer said all G37's sound like that its normal".
So I am obviously not the only one that got a bit of a run around from the dealer.

Guys... we have a problem here... First there are way too many subforums on this board for one car model... it makes it not as user friendly and less people are going to click through all of the subforums which means less viewers/responders to each post.
Second... I just posted a pretty important thread about G37 exhaust rattle in the main forum because I want everyone to see it so we can get an idea how many people have this issue and see who has been able to get it fixed. Not only do I feel this should stay in the main forum, but a moderator should make it a sticky. There are a couple other posts that also got moved and people were asking for sticky's on those threads as well. Yet a moderator moved it to the Tech Area > Brakes, Suspension, Wheels & Tires forum? That doesn't even make sense.
I know you guys are trying to do your job but take a step back and realize that these forums are for the owners/drivers/etc and are supported by ad revenue from the clicks we make on your pages. Please be a little bit easier on us, and maybe occasionally try to help.

I'll chime in and hopefully shed a little light to your question. We have specific sections on the forum, (ie, the Tech sections) to make it easier for members to search for specific topics. If someone has a question or issue that is exhaust related, it makes perfect sense to search in the exhaust section. Also, this won't be a one car forum forever so we have to provide some scalability and organization for future growth. So basically, the Mod made the correct choice in moving your thread from the General section to the Tech area.
I hope that explains things a little.
