There are options to mod the trunk if you want it to open all the way. I personally wish that it would open all the way when you pop it, this isn't only for high dollar supercars. I would like to to be like auto open SUV rear hatches rather than on hydraulic struts.

You can change out the struts that support the trunk lid to ones that are slightly stronger or longer. This is a crapshoot and requires trial and error to find the right ones. It will work. I've done it on a different car.

Option 2 is to remove the struts and install a "pop trunk" option that involves a solenoid that will pop the trunk latch when activated and raise the lid. The benefit here is that you can remotely close it as well. This option is much more expensive and requires more technical expertise. Of course if you are going to do this, you should go full on ghetto all the way and have multicolored neon and TV screens fiberglassed to the underside of your trunk lid as well as a fog machine in there too.

Trunk monkey. Nuff said. Push the button that shocks the monkey and he opens/closes the lid. Problem solved. NEXT!!

My 2008 c350's trunk opens all the way when popped. It is kinda annoying and scary IMO. Especially in certain situations where the roof is really low or something is right above your car. The trunk can come flying straight up and hit something. I personally like the way the g37's trunk opens. The only downside is lifting it up and potentially getting fingerprints on it...
