No because there is only an output from the IPod and no input into it. If the system was setup to use the IPod connection instead of the AV connections then you could.

 

Yeah... I want the system set up so that the aux button just changes only the display to video-input, but keeps the "source" on iPOD. Can't be done?

You dont have to listen to the me! If you want to play videos in your G37, Thats your business! My son loves to watch his shows while i drive! My girl loves to watch music videos while i drive! My buddies love to watch stuff while i drive! Im DRIVING , NOT watching videos !!! If i want to watch videos , ill do it while in park! Stop telling grown folks what to do vonzip ! I just joined this forum. I posted this in another forum which will hopefully be helpfull here. There is one update to it. I worked out how to fix the humming noise. Actually my brother an electronics/electrical genius solved the problem for me. Pull out the video cable slightly so it is not grounded. That solved the humming problem.



I spent a lot of time trying to perfect my Ipod video integration for my G37S and I thought an update on what I have found out might be helpful.
Setting Your Ipod

The most important thing I can tell anyone is - before you start, go to video settings on your Ipod and set it to “Video Out.”

1. 5th Generation IPOD

For the 5th Generation Video Ipod, you can connect from the earphone jack at the top of the Ipod or from the 30-pin plug at the bottom.

I believe that you don’t need the Apple Cables for the 5th Generation but can use any cable that fits.

I have tried all of them and settled on the IJet.

(I have a problem using the top earphone jack that I have not been able to resolve. There is a whining noise when the charger is plugged in. I never had this problem with the 30-pin plug but none of the remotes work when I use the 30-pin Composite cables at the bottom. If anyone has a solution, please let me know what it is. I have tried everything.)

2. Classic, IPhone and Ipod Touch

For the Classic, IPhone and Ipod Touch, I believe you have to use the APPLE Ipod 30-pin Composite cable. This is because (1) the earphone jack for the Classic, IPhone and Ipod Touch does not include a video out (yellow); and (2) the APPLE Ipod 30-pin Composite cable has a chip in it that makes it work. Generic cables will not work because they do not have the chip.

The foregoing is what I have learned through trial and error. If anyone has a different experience, let me know.

will it still work through the ipod cable that came with the car ? I have the ipod integration kit that came with the premium package.

 

Do you have the Video RCA Cables (Red, White and Yellow) as well. The same Ipod cannot be used with the Infiniti Ipod integration and the video RCA at the same time. I have two Ipods in my car. One is connected to the Inifiniti Ipod cable. The other is connected as described in my posting above to the RCA input in the glove box.

There is no decoder or authentication chip in the iPod video cables for the 6G/3G nano/iPhone/touch models. Both the composite video and s-video signals are directly available over the dock connector. You can make your own video cable if you'd like by hacking up a composite video cable and a dock cable.
