AH, the thread got moved. Didn't notice

Anyway, just wanted to say:
With the invisicord going into the rear view mirror, the power source isn't "switched". As in, when i turn the car off the power to the RD remains.

In my last car, the rearview mirror has maplights, which is what i using the invisicord to tap into. As a safety to prevent the battery from being drained, the power to this source would be cut after 10 minutes of the car being off.

This is not the case with the G. Prolly cuz the rearview mirror is not used for lights, but rather HOMELINK and a compass.

Am i doing it right u think? Right now i have to manually turn my RD off and On on exit and entrance. Wanna get switched power or something.

Any thoughts?

I remember reading something about this, I need someone to confirm what I say though.

One connector is for the power that's always on. One is for ground and one is for 12v but is only on when the car is on. So, your ground wire is right, but your power is wrong.

I thought this too, but tired the other wire with no luck.... perhaps i did not get the probe in all the way as the invisicord i have was not meant for any G (thinner probes for a G's rearview mirror). So proper contact was not made. I'll try again over the weekend.

That would rock if it was true and works!

Actually, now that i think about it... the middle wire had power going to it when the car was on, but not when off. I have my ground going into this one right now.

Uh-oh. Lol, maybe the wire closest to driver is GROUND, Middle wire is SWITCHED 12v and Passenger side wire is Constant 12V.

Will keep everyone posted....

According to the invisicord website for the 07 g35's (which is diff than the 03-06) the black is ground and the brown is the power.

However... Its and 07... So I dunno. My radar + mount has arrived, but my invisicord hasn't yet.

Maybe i can't get the probes in all the way to the "ign" 12v+, since im using a non-G35 cord... dang

I'll prolly order once we see if bolaber got his working the way it should.

OK, IT WORKS! =)

Thnx for givin me the the confidence to make it work, memphoman and bolaber.

The BLACK (middle wire) is indeed the ground, and the BROWN striped wire (DRIVER side) is the Switched 12v+

The green wire (passenger side) was always on power.

So now i can turn my car off, and the RD turns off too. When i turn the car on, RD comes on like a champ.

Lets see how long the probes stay in bfr comin out.

add a small tie-wrap right where they exit the plug, but, not on the pins themselves, should stay long and tight.

When i picked up my car i paid for the K40 with the laser jammer for front and rear, plus the remote start that goes inside of the factory intelligent key. I still have to get them installed as soon as my headlights and front grill come back from the painter. So next week I'll do a little write up on the system. They Caliber trusts the system so much that they will pay for up to 5 of your speeding tickets for the first year that you have the system.

ok, i got the special "thinner" g35 wires to try in the G37. I can't imagine placing those wires in there. There's absolutely no room. I tried, and all I end up doing is bending the wires as they attempt to slide past what's in the hole already. I'll try again tomorrow, but i'm afraid i'll just cut the wire and splice them in there...

any thoughts/input as to how to do it for those that were successful? how did you do it?
